By creating a comprehensive GENOGRAM, students are encouraged to think about the origins personal ethics, values, trauma histories, professional influences, etc. Patterns may be present that will directly influence the developing professional social worker. Students will identify specific aspects of their own lives related to trauma and ethics. By examining the two components, students will be purposeful as they experience ongoing professional development. Completion of the trauma history and ethical genogram will promote reflection and self-regulation to manage personal values and maintain professionalism in practice situations.
