Firstly, the programme regulations require that your dissertation should contain between 12000 and 15000 words. Secondly, this word count includes any footnotes or endnotes and appendices, but excludes the abstract, the bibliography, the list of contents and the title page. Also It is not necessary to include a glossary as long as terms are appropriately define-d as they appear. However, The word count must be specified on the dissertation title page.
Title page (see attached example),Abstract (max 250 words), List of contents, Introduction, Main chapters of dissertation, Conclusion, Bibliography Footnotes may either be given at the foot of each page (preferably) or liste-d separately at the end of the dissertation (after the conclusion and before the bibliography).
The bibliography must list all texts, articles, cases and other materials to which you have referre-d or which you have used as part of your research for the dissertation. Remember to reference completely and properly any part of your dissertation which you have taken directly or indirectly from other people’s, and your own, materials – Please note the College’s statement on Plagiarism under this Appendix.
By uploading your dissertation through Turnitin a similarity report will be generate-d. This report shows a percentage of similarities against data held on the Turnitin database. Any scores over 30% will be flagge-d up to the examiners. Please note that a score of 30% does not automatically signal plagiarism. Whether there is a case of plagiarism remains an academic judgement.
Dissertations must be typed and double-spaced, with ample margins (of at least 2.5cm) on all four sides. They should be in 12 point font
