Big Data Synthesis Essay. Social networking is a major part of the cyber-world for many people. Write an essay discussing whether this is a good or bad thing. Should we be concerned that people put so much personal information (and pictures) online, or is it simply one of the changes that society will have to deal with? Feel free to make distinctions between different parts of society and their use of social media, but be sure to explain why there’s a difference, or how your audience may be able to use that difference in some way.
The successful synthesis essay will contain:
Clear thesis/purpose, Multi-paragraph organization that supports and reinforces the main thesis, Appropriate use of Logos/Ethos/Pathos,Fully explained background/history/definitions of key terms, Synthesis of multiple outside sources to support individual claims/arguments, Analysis of the main ideas and information, not just repetition of the sources,
Use of credible academic/professional sources.
Proper use of MLA citation form (both in-text and full citations at the end), Proper grammar and sentence structure
There is to be NO extra research or outside sources. The goal here is to have you using sources that the instructor has already read, so they can evaluate how well you analyzed the sources and chose your support information.
